EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SUMMARY

  • Health Insurance – PORT provides medical coverage through BCBS.  Cost to eligible full time employees will be determined based on wellness program participation level.  Dependent coverage may be purchased by the employee with pre-tax dollars.
    • Eligibility: following 90-days of employment.
  • Life Insurance – $25,000 term life policy & a $25,000 AD&D at not cost to the employee.
    • Eligibility: Following 90 days of employment.
  • Dental Insurance (Optional) – PORT provides a voluntary payroll deducted dental plan through Ameritas Insurance for full-time employees. Employee portion and dependent coverage may be purchased with pre-tax dollars.
  • Retirement Plan – 401(K) Deferred Compensation Plan administered by BB&T. PORT contributes 3% of the employee’s salary to the plan.
    • Eligibility: Following 1 full year of employment and least 1,000 hours worked.

  • Personal Leave – All full-time employees accrue personal leave at a rate of 3.577 hours per pay period. Graduated plan beginning after two full years of employment. Maximum annual carry over accrual 160 hours.
    • Eligibility: No waiting period, may be used anytime after earned (may not be advanced)
  • Sick leave – All full-time employees accrue sick leave at a rate of 1.84 hours per pay period. Graduates to 4 hours per pay period following two full years of employment. Maximum annual carry over accrual 320 hours.
    • Eligibility: No waiting period. May be used anytime after earned (may not be advanced).
  • Worker’s Compensation – All PORT employees are covered by Worker’s Compensation that pays certain benefits when the employee is disabled and absent due to an occupational illness or injury sustained while performing work duties.
    • Eligibility: 1st day of work
  • Family Medical – The Family Medical Leave Act provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks unpaid job-protected leave a year and requires group health benefits be maintained during leave.
  • Military Leave With Pay – Any regular employee who is a member of the national guard or any components of the United States Armed Forces shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay up to 3 weeks per fiscal year.
  • Court / Jury Duty With Pay – An employee who is subpoenaed or at the discretion of proper authorities summoned to appear as witness for the federal government state or political subdivision thereof shall be entitled to a leave of absence. When an employee serves on a jury the employee is entitled to leave with pay and shall receive regular compensation plus fees received for jury duty.
  • Direct Deposit – Payroll is direct deposited to the banking institution of your choice.
    • Eligibility: Mandatory beginning with 1st payroll following start date.
  • Staff Training – PORT recognizes the need for and supports on-going training for it’s employees. Professional development is maintained as a continuous goal for all staff. CPR, First Aid, NCIA&B, Medication Administration, are just a few of the trainings we offer in-house at no cost to the employee.
  • Mileage Reimbursement – Employees who utilize the personal vehicle in the normal course of work duties or travel outside their immediate work area will be reimbursed for said travel st the current approved mileage rate.
  • Professional Development – Incentives for obtaining licensure and credentials is offered to all eligible employees. Any employee who companies the requirements and receives certification for a certified substance abuse counselor (CSAC) during their employment (not prior to employment) will receive a recognition payment of $100.00. In addition any employee who completes requirements and receives certification or licensure for the following during their employment (not prior to employment) will receive a recognition payment of $200.00. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Clinical Addictions Specialist (CSAS), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
